Dr Brad Irwin MBE
Brad Irwin is an internationally recognised leader in public engagement, science communication, and strategic partnerships, with a career spanning over 25 years across the cultural, environmental, and advocacy sectors. As the founder of Brad Irwin Consulting, he works with global organisations, NGOs, museums, and brands to amplify their impact through strategy development, executive positioning, storytelling, and partnership building — helping to translate knowledge into meaningful action for people and the planet.
Previously, Brad served as Head of Global Engagement at the Natural History Museum, London, leading initiatives that connected science with diverse audiences and forging collaborations between researchers, policymakers, and the public on issues of climate change and biodiversity loss. He later joined Project Everyone, advancing global coalitions to accelerate progress toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Brad has chaired the Annual Ecsite Conference (Europe’s largest gathering of science engagement professionals) and has played a leadership role in key global forums, including the World Economic Forum, UN General Assembly, CBD Conferences, and COP summits. He was awarded an MBE for services to arts and culture, recognising his contributions to public engagement and international partnership development.
In addition to his consultancy work, Brad serves on the boards of Open Planet and the Royal Pavilion and Museums Trust. His practice reflects a deep commitment to the intersection of culture, conservation, and systemic change — driven by the belief that collaboration, bold storytelling, and global partnerships are critical to creating a more sustainable and equitable future.
