Dr Brad Irwin MBE

Brad is an internationally recognised leader in public engagement, science communication, and strategic partnerships, with more than 25 years of experience across the cultural, environmental, and advocacy sectors. He works with organisations, NGOs, museums, and brands worldwide to turn knowledge into action — blending strategy, storytelling, and collaboration to drive impact for people and the planet.

As Head of Global Engagement at the Natural History Museum, London, Brad led initiatives that connected science with millions, forging partnerships between researchers, policymakers, and communities on climate and biodiversity. He went on to join Project Everyone, helping build global coalitions to accelerate progress on the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

He has chaired Europe’s largest science engagement gathering and contributed to major platforms including the World Economic Forum, UN General Assembly, and COP summits. Brad also serves on the Global Advisory Board of Open Planet, the Education, Public Engagement and Policy Advisory Committee of Trinity College Dublin’s Co-Centre for Climate + Biodiversity + Water, and as a trustee of the Royal Pavilion & Museums Trust.

He was awarded an MBE for services to arts and culture, recognising his contributions to public engagement and international collaboration
